My search began at Grand ST subway stop and continued along Bower and James ST through Chinatown. I walked over the Brooklyn Bridge (long, but has a gorgeous view) and into Brooklyn Heights. I was told to take an immediately right of the bridge and I would find nothing but Hasidic Jewish stores full of kosher meats and possibly matzo ball soup. Somewhere I took a wrong turn and ended up in a residential neighborhood. It was beautiful nonetheless. After a phone call to Ariel (in the library, studying) for help I hopped on the subway and ended up in downtown Brooklyn, a very cute neighborhood with lots of food, just as I like it.
No matzo ball soup today, but I did eat a black and white cookie and perfected my jaywalking skills, which are absolutely necessary in this city.
